A lot of time has passed since I wrote about the Sitecore Statistics.

The biggest and most important change is that Sitecore introduced the new SDK: Sitecore Content SDK for XM Cloud. It is the new way of building Sitecore websites for XM Cloud. All important Sitecore JSS features are present in Sitecore Content SDK. But Sitecore made it lean. It contains many fewer dependencies and it is faster.

That is why we announce the new chart: Comparison of downloads for Sitecore JSS and Sitecore Content SDK. It will help you to understand the level of Sitecore Content SDK adoption and make the right decision to upgrade your website to Sitecore Content SDK or not.

Sitecore Content SDK

For September 2025: I would choose @sitecore-content-sdk for the new website, but I will wait to migrate the existing ones.

Sitecore JSS reached the plateau. And for the first time, I need to state that Sitecore headless usage doesn’t grow or grow very slowly.

Sitecore JSS Next.js

I expect it to be constant for some time. Then it will start to drop, when Sitecore Content SDK will start to replace JSS. And once Sitecore Content SDK usage grows to some meaningful values, we will add a chart that will show the total Sitecore headless packages usage.

Sitecore 10.4 has become a mainstream version. It dominates for both JSS and SXA statistics.

Sitecore versions

Things remain stable in 2025. Next.js dominates the Sitecore market as the choice. However, it is much slower than Sitecore Astro JSS. The amount of Sitecore NPM packages usage remains stable, which means that there is no growth or decline in Sitecore usage. And it is too early to draw some conclusions about Sitecore Content SDK. But I expect that it will get huge adoption in 2026.
