Cover Image for Sitecore Symposium 2024: Sessions Recommendations

Sitecore Symposium is the biggest Sitecore event. This year, it will be held in Nashville. It will have 100+ sessions in a few concurrent streams. Here is our recommendation for which session to attend for developers and architects.

Tuesday, October 15

Slash your Sitecore XP Azure bill

Sitecore XP hosting was never cheap. It has a much bigger number of server roles than XM. The more users you have, the bigger the growth of Analytics databases and indexes for it. It can achieve astronomical sizes and could even cause issues during Sitecore upgrades: it is just not possible to migrate this huge amount of data quickly. It is interesting, what Sitecore will suggest in this area!

GenAI for translation

AI could be hard. And AI could be harmful. For example, Microsoft made their translation worse by adding AI. It would be interesting if TransPerfect managed to apply AI better than Microsoft!

Big bangs are for physicists, not XM Cloud! Five tech tips to streamline your transition to Composable Sitecore

More and more Sitecore clients select XM Cloud. Migration to Sitecore XM Cloud had become one of the most popular requests in 2024. It would be interesting to compare your experience in XM Cloud migration with Jeremy Davis’s. Or if you haven’t done it before, you will know from what to start!

Roadmap sessions: OrderCloud roadmap: The power of flexibility, Sitecore Content Hub R&D roadmap, Sitecore XM/XP/MC R&D roadmap

Your project doesn’t stay at the same point. Vendor products also evolve. When you choose a vendor, it is very important to match not only the current capabilities but also the future development. If you consider Sitecore XM/XP/MC, OrderCloud, or Content Hub, check this session to know if it is moving in the same direction that you want!

How Sitecore builds with Vercel AI SDK

Vercel made a small AI revolution with their Shadcn + Vercel V0.dev. If they did something similar for Sitecore, it would be a breakthrough. And it can completely change the development workflow!

Next-gen frontend development with XM Cloud

Frontend development for Sitecore will change. If you want to know how you must attend this session. There are no tips, on what exactly will be presented. We may only guess that the presentation will be about the new Metadata mode for Pages and how it changes your usual development workflow.

Thursday, October 17

Make your Next.js Sitecore site faster

The presentation from our CTO, Anton Tishchenko. Modern web development is complex. Nowadays, a lot of things are dictated by tools and frameworks. But you still can be in control of everything. Anton will show advanced techniques, on how to analyze your frontend Next.js project and how to improve it!

Accelerate your path to XM Cloud with Github Codespaces

Remember the times, when each developer on the Sitecore project required a Windows machine? Time flies! And now you don’t even need a machine to work with the Sitecore project! Actually, you need, but only to connect to open browser and GitHub Codespaces. What the amazing times!

Introducing Sitecore’s marketplace

Sitecore moves into the SaaS direction with XM Cloud. And the next big thing will be the Sitecore marketplace. It will enable developers and marketers to build and maintain solutions faster and easier.

Getting started with ASP.NET Core and XM Cloud

Sitecore just launched a new repository that contains the ASP.NET Core Starter Kit for Sitecore XM Cloud Development. It is intended to get developers up and running quickly with a new ASP.NET Core project that is integrated with Sitecore XM Cloud.

Headless SXA vs. Component Builder: The rock-off of the year

The question that all developers asked themself this year. Which approach to select for building the new Sitecore project? Headless SXA or Component Builder? The session will uncover the strengths and weaknesses of both projects.

Conclusions

It was really hard to highlight some sessions among the others. Many session sounds very interesting and it will be a hard choice to select between them. It will be a very interesting event. See you in Nashville, USA on 15-18 October 2024.
